i have a 91 rex si that has a b16a2 block with a b18a1 head...i was wondering if it would be cheaper to find a b16 head and all the vtec stuff for it or to buy another engine for it....if you have any good swap ideas let me know...thanks.

the easiest thing to do is get an OBD 0 b18 block. This will require no additional wiring and give you more torque. your options are pretty extensive with the different engine combinations you can do. the problem with getting a b16 head is that everyone wants one, and you have to rewire for VTEC.

another option is to put the b20 block in from the honda CRV. then when you pop your hood it only looks like an old b18.
