jim did u seriously ask that question? i thought u had more car knowledge than that!! Cheesy

just so you know homie you are wrong.

that shit keeps the heat in, so what relatively happens is the engine heats that tube up naturally and all you are doing is keeping that heat in.  heat is bad.  also whatever you put that shit on is gonna rust and deteriorate at a 4x intensity rate

ummm yeah, im gonna have to disagree with u on this on. i just dont know about that right now... (office space)alright listen for real, when u have a charge of cool air coming through the intake the heat wrap works as insulator and keeps the air cool. heat wrap works both ways kids. do some research, even google it. k bye

alright listen for real, when u have a charge of cool air coming through the intake the heat wrap works as insulator and keeps the air cool. heat wrap works both ways kids.

actually your wrong. the way header/exhaust wraps work is by absorbing heat, this way the header itself stays at a high temp thusly allowing the exhaust gas to flow faster. basic fluid dynamics

now if you apply this is your intake, the wrap is then absorbing the ambient heat in your engine bay and then heating up the metal intake pipe increasing the temp of the intake air.

if this was such a great idea, and if it actually worked dont you think you would see more people doing it? people would be wraping their charge pipes to get more boost pressure if your idea worked.

heres some reading for you:

you sir are a complete moron, your talking about two different things.

i only wrapped the intake cause i had extra heat wrap

Quote
COOL TUBE HEAT SHIELD

Keep your induction air cool with this unique lace up tube cover. The design of the cover allows it to fit from 2-1/2 inch to 4 inch air tubes up to 36 inches long. The lace on heat shield blocks over 98% of the radiant heat of the turbo and exhaust.

so which is it, did you go out and buy this product or wrap your intake with exhaust heat wrap?

sorry here buddy but i have been in the car industry for quite some time now. i know what i am talking about as does silverkorn.   answer me this then.  if this header wrap is so good on the intake then why doesnt car manufacturers make it standard equipment?  don't worry i'll wait.

if you think that header wrap garbage is good for it then go for it.   i dont give a fuck.  its your car to fuck up,  its your wated money.  i was just trying to help you out, simple as that.

you really didnt have to post with sarcasm towards me ok there buddy, now did you?

now its coming around to bite you in the ass as you dig yourself deeper into the hole.  your wrong and secretely deep down i think you know it, but you dont want to admit that now.  again i was trying to help you out.  if your gonna be sarcastic, next time i will just let you KEEP fucking your car up without telling you. like i said its your money down the shitter. really dude it is ok to admit it when your wrong, thats what a man does. to keep going against the 40 million other people in this country that knows its wrong is being unique, but wrong. sorry
