silver?

i found a crx here in "storage" in their backyard, looks like 89ish

is there anyway that i would be able to have found a 1988 Si, silver in color?

lookin to maybe get back into the crx game.  who knows.  if i was to find a 88 Si in pretty much any color i would be golden.

both 88 and 89 si's came in silver
(i'm actually not sure if they came in 90-91 though... anyone know?)

where are the seatbelts mounted?

if its an 88 si  the seatbelts will be mounted on the pillar whereas if its an 89 si the seatbelts will be mounted on the door.

i've always tried to figure out why they were hated so much, i've had both..4 Si's one was a canadian door-mounted(jatt's white crx)...but besides the heavy door factor what other reasons lead to its dislike?

You don't have seatbelts if your door comes off in a wreck.  Fortunatly for me the Tercel has door mounted seatbelts.   Sad

hmm ..yea i guess..for safety..its not so "safe" .if the door was to disconnect from the car..but hey can't beat the $12 "automatic seatbelts" discount from insurance every 6 months..thats a HOLE $24/year..and in the last 3 years i'd had my license its saved me a ghastly amount of $72...now thats what i call SAVINGS$$ haha..but yea i guess it would be better to have pillar mounted ..

because the belt doesn't always retract and a whole goddamm lot of the time, the metal buckle gets slammed between the frame and the door panel, ripping the door panel skin.

The 1991 Si SE model was silver as well. It was a Canadian only model though and only had 250models made. So good luck finding one in decent shape.

Are you sure it was a canadian one?  Because we NEVER had pillar mounted seat belts(Atleast on the SI's) so I doubt on any others.

i'm pretty certain it was a canadian..and i'm POSITIVE that it was a 91, cuz i remember pulling up the carfax on it also had everything 90-91 Si's did-like the tail lights, the gauge cluster and other 90-91gen specific details, and when i broke my door glass once, i had to look for any year canadian CRX, i'm surprised that you discredit that though, thats wierd..maybe i am wrong..but i know my white crx-jatt's old crx..was definately a 91 canadian Si, it even had DRL's hehe..

PR3D -  It makes me wonder as one of my buddies has an 88SI right now, I have an 88SI parts car, had an 89SI (wrote off- Became parts car), currently have a 90SI, and my brother in law had a 91SI.  None of which had door mounted.  I'm thinking that if anything someone possibly switched a US doors onto a Canadian body.  Thats really the only possibility if it truely is a Canadian car.  And being in the US now thats not really a bad possibility.
