Here in the great city of North Port Florida, the FUCKWAD commissioners are trying to ban ATV riding and camping! Hopefully we're going to get a good turn out to hopefully have them delay the ban until they give us a legit place to ride. As of now.. the main concern from the commissioners is "they are destroying thousands of acres of land" ...put that up against them fucks who vote in new condos and huge building permits.. it's "OK" for them to move a fuck load more people into the county... when we clearly have a water resource problem as it is?!?!?! in my eyes... camping and off roading gives more of an awareness of the evironment! sorry guys... had to vent a little! www.northportoffroad.comwww.sun-herald.com |

Why dont they ban all Suvs and Trucks that arent used for hauling/construction. Atvs are the least of anybodys worries.

I'm in a local Dual sport bike club and we are having the same issues. They were trying to pass a noise by-law somewhere in Cali that was so strong that you technically couldn't use an electric tooth brush at your property line.

I think that they should ban matches down there... I was there in may this year, they had brushfires up the wazoo, closing hiways and shEt. And come to find out two pre teen kids were playing with matches. Maybe ATV's cause fires too?

nah, they dont have a valid excuse like preventing fires....most of the brush fires are caused by kids not out playing in fields on their ATV's but out playing in the empty undeveloped lots near their houses because they dont have anything more fun to keep their interest, like atv's!
The impression i got from the council was that they want to limit any damage done to natural lands by offroad vehicles. they want to do this to keep the land "beautiful and preserved" so that when developers try to buy the land they can sell it with higher property values. this is, without a doubt, a blatent attempt by selfish snobs to keep control of the youths in their community and raise property values by drawing in more selfish snobs who want nothing more than gated community after gated community of highly maintained unnatural non-native water hogging landscaping.
that land WILL be developed on this decade or the next. the issue is about controlling people now so they dont have to deal with them later.

so it's final, you no longer can ride atv's on government land or on private land without written permission from the landowner (yeah right, who the fuck is going to be able to get that?!?)
the largest network of offroad trails in southern florida is now off limits to atv's....lets see how long it is before the developers jump all over it and really rape the land!
