I have a stock b16a2 and want some more power out of it without spending a lot of money, my hp goals are 210-250hp. I just want to experiance the feel of turbo before I decide to dump money into this. So far I have acquired these parts:

-revhard cast manifold w/ external WG block off plate
-saab 9000 turbo 42/48 A/R internal WG; with no in and out play veryvery little side to side play
-a hacked piece of volvo 3 bolt turbo downpipe with o2 bung
-golden eagle oil filter sandwich plate
-all oil lines
-all gaskets
-greddy turbo catback
-dohc greddy blue box
-a set of 310 RC injectors
-a set of precision 440 injectors
-obd1 injector clips
-a/f and boost gauge
-I also have a vafc laying around
-probe IC
-junkyard IC piping
-Bosch BOV

My main fear is blowing my motor, my b16a2 has only 37k miles on the clock. I know this T3 turbo is not the best around for a b16, but is it possible to use?  I was thinkin about finding a used 50 or 57 trim t3/t4 and grabing an external WG. Also, for tuning I will eventually dump the blue box. I would grab a obd2 conversion harness and a chipped p28 to tune with uberdata. After test fitting the turbo I have came to the conclusion I need a thin radiator fan. what do you think?

it might fit, only way to tell is to put it on. with minor modifications to the fuel and running low levels of boost you shouldnt have any problems without doing any tuning.

just make sure you have everything you need bought beforehand to stop downtime, since i think this is your only vehicle.

another thing i would do is check the compression numbers to see how good of condition the rings are still in

The exhaust A/R on that turbo is pretty small.  It makes me think that it's going to run out of top end a little soon.  Honestly it all comes down to tuning.   You should decide right now if you plan to go stand alone or piggy back.

Personally I would go with the 440 injectors, an upgraded fuel pump, and uberdata (similar to hondata I assume).  If you plan on doing the tuning yourself it would be wise to invest in something like the Innovative LM1 wideband o2 sensor and datalogger. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lm1.php

A buddy of mine has it and it's awesome.  It also allows the user to datalog from other sensors as well.  When you are tuning you can never have enough information.

I also recommend purchasing some books on forced induction tuning and engine theory.

Here are two books that I personally own.
This is a great easy to read book that goes into detail about general engine theory and provides basic formulas and concepts of various forms of natural and forced induction tuning.  Highly recommended.
http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=11153&langId=-1

This book focuses more on EFI tuning theory and design.  It also has chapters dedicated for tuning specific EFI systems. (Accel DFI, Motec, Hondata come to mind).  Also highly recommended.
http://www.themotorbookstore.com/engine1.html

From the looks of things you have a pretty good start and seem to have a good grasp on things.  These books combined with the parts I suggested should provide an enjoyable and more importantly reliable setup.

Good luck with this endeavor and I hope this helps.  Don't hesitate to post questions.

Someone on H-T also said this. Do you think I will be running out of air in the 6-8K range? THis will enduce detonation correct?

But if I do buy another turbo,  I would have to get a whole new setup. Bigger IC piping, bigger IC, new downpipe, and external wastegate. Unless my internal WG will bolt up to it.
I was looking into this turbo:
http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1143620 he is asking only 300

I also found someone locally with a wideband and a uberdata ready p72 forsale.

Worst case scenario it will destroy the turbo!  My best guess is that with your setup the wastegate will open prior to you hitting your redline.  Your boost will level off and you won't have anymore "pull" even though you are in boost.

You can get around this a bit by using a manual boost controller and keeping the wastegate closed longer.  Boost pressure will go up and the turbo will make more heat.  It really comes down to how efficent that turbo, the material of the compressor wheel, and how close to the surge line you are willing to run it.  My guess is that the limits of this turbo are fairly low, but again I'm just guessing here.

About external wastegates, you don't need one with an internally wastegated turbo.  There are plenty of turbos (16gs, T28s, come to mind) that will meet you needs and not excessivly drive up the costs of your project.

i guess this setup is worth a try, I dont really give a crap about the turbo that much. I rarely beat on my car and redline it all the time. So if that turbo blows I wouldnt give 2shits. I only care about my motor. I do have a turboXS MBC. I guess all i need now is a slim radiator fan so the downpipe can clear and i should be good to go.

Just make sure you replace it before it blows.  Chips from the compressor wheel and oil/sludge from the bearings has to go somewhere (re: motor).

Be sure to post plenty of pics and let us know how everything works out.

I am considering buying a slightly used turboneticst3/t4 turbo
57 trim 50.A/rcompressor  63a/rturbine. So i am holding off on this project for now. I also have a slim radiator fan and a pretapped oil pan coming in which i got for dirt cheap on h-t.

That sounds like a pretty good deal.  Be sure to check out the turbo links page that silverkorn posted.  There are a lot of good links for turbo related products and info in there.
