for the time being i would just get a junkyard IC, either from a Volvo, or Starion or a DSM. i wouldnt pay any more then $200 for a good IC, and make sure when you get one from someone to see if it was pressurized to see if it leaked.

Just make sure you find a spot that it will fit, without removing your metal bumper. Measure out how big of a spot you have to work with first, I forget what my measurments were.

Is a 2" intercooler wide enough for the T3 or will I have to go 2.5"?

You can listen to the rest of these guys if you want to run a ghetto setup. The intercooler dimensinos you posted should be good depending on your WHP goal.

Theres nothing ghetto about the 1g DSm intercooler, its proven and oem, so you know the quality and the correct core size are there.

He might have some issues with mounting the sidemount intercooler on a CRX, also due to the design of the OE CRX bumper it might not get adequate air flow going to/thru it.

My suggestion?  I say get a Starion I/C which is good for 300hp too.  You might have to reweld the end tanks on it, but at least it will be mounted where it can get good airflow.

If you get real luck look for an I/C from an Isuzu NPR delivery truck.  It came with a HUGE OEM core and has aluminum endtanks.

Some links for you:

NPR intercooler installed on a MKIII Supra

Junkyard I/C webpage:

NPR intercooler pic:

Specs on the NPR are 24" x 8.5" x 2.25" 2.5".  Like I said, big.  No doubt you will need to "cut to fit".     Happy hunting!
