Right lads!
Ive got a crx with the b16a1. I was planing on getting the JRSC with the stage 1 boost but now im thinking about the vortech with the cooler!(who can resist 117hp) I was looking at the vortech one for the civic si 99-00! Is there much work involved in getting it to fit or is it just a matter of relocating the battery! Or is there one made for the crx?

well by the way you posted im gonna guess your not from the states. im not sure if the american supercharger kits will fit the SiR due to engine placement, but my guess would be that the vortech would have an easier time trying to fit then the JR. plus i like the vortech a lot more

Yea, Im from Ireland! The JR for the civic si will fit stright in due to the fact of not having air con or power steering! Ive got a quote to have some work done including fitting the JR which came to around €1000! Just wondering how much more is involved with the vortech! I think everyone would have the vortech if it wasnt for the price! Is there anyone here with it? Over here we have a mag called Max Power and they recently did a feature on the Ground Designs 2000 CRX! Looking at the engine it looks like it could be alot of work! Plus where does the battery go??

Thanks!

does the 1000 price tag come with the JRSC?

and no there isnt anyone on the site that has either SC, most people go turbo since its cheaper and more powerful.

um, a supercharger is boost.

I have been told that the vortech will fit in a crx but it won't work with the cooler due to not enough room in the engine compartment.  But I would think that you could find somewhere to put it.

yea im sure you could make your own charge pipes to give room for the IC, but the more pipes you add the more lag the system will have and the whole purpose of having a SC is no lag

the €1000 is just fitting: supercharger, stage 1 boost, 1.8vtec integra breaking system, 4.7 final gear, type r lsd and stage 4 clutch!
Was talking to a tuning shop yesterday and he was telling me for the price of the vortech s/c he would supply a greedy turbo kit with a R33 intercooler and fit it! Choices!! I dont know what to do?? Just sold my crx 1.5 dual carb so i have the money to do it now! what would ye do in this situation??

about €4000 for the turbo/intercooler/injectors/etc. including fitting!
the €1000 is just the fitting!
Does anyone have any links where i could read up about the rev hard kits and the full race kits! Seem to be hearing good things about them here! Thanks!

personally i would do the work yourself and save the money and learn some things

4k is a little too high for a greddy kit IMO

www.revhard.com
www.full-race.com

rev hard for a nice power gain for little money
full race for serious power

well it all depends on how much boost you run.

the thing with the full-race kits is that its designed to run higher amounts of boost more efficently then other kits, thus the equal length manifold and larger turbos. you could run this kit at lower levels or even just get another turbo.

what internal engine mods would you recommend to get best results from a full-race kit?? Say, money wasnt an issue!

if money wasnt an issue i would have the block resleeved, either by golden eagle or strader performance then go with some beefy internals with a ceramic coating on the piston heads, weisco pistons and full-race rods. also bore out the block to 84mm.
