i was wondering what compression ratio a stock b16a1 with a 3mm copper head gasket would yield? and how much boost can they handle on a day to day basis?

so far the honda stock headgasket is the best one to use. some people are able to use other headgaskets but they arnt able to handle the amount of boost the stock one can.

reason i asked is i'm replacing my NA block w/ a stock block and a turbo kit. B16A having a 10.x:1 compression ratio scares me because i plan on pushing 10psi.

so i'm looking for a 9.0 or 9.5 to 1 ratio. would a 3mm gasket put me in that margine and would it hold 10psi?

running 10psi on a stock block is fine, just have to get it tuned correctly. but for that low of a boost i think that headgasket is fine. but i dont know about it dropping it that much, maybe .4 but not to a 9:1

You would need to know the dimentions of the combustion chamber, and the thickness of the stock gasket, than add in the extra thickness and do the math. It would be simple geometry type ish.
