Ok post whores, check in here if you can't find a thread that you can post on.
Ok, I did some minor D series Surgery last week. Here are some misc. info.
Flywheel. Si is 16 lbs, HF is 13 lbs.
ZC exhaust mani, fits in the Z6 B pipe. I was using a Z6 and it made the B pipe rub against my oil pan. Now I have a ZC with bigger runners and it drops the B pipe away from my oil pan.
Si engine on a DX car is fast, will chirp third (DPFI).
GSR Springs are longer than CRX ones.

Chirping has nothing to do with being faster, it's actually technically slowing you down.

Post whores in the HOUSE!!!
:fart: <-- soooo funny
I can't chirp 3rd, actually I probably could if I reved it out to like 7k and then dropped the clutch when driving like 30km/h.

chirping is just the result of the clutch being in good shape, the pressu replate being either a)new or b)aftermarket
i could chirp 5th in my b16 rex with the ACT setup I had.

Have any of you post whores seen that stuff on Discovery before that they call "black goo" its a liquid with like tons of iron particles in it and when put near a magnet it goes rock solid! that would be fuckin cool! They are trying to make a clutch so that it has no friction. It woudl just be two plates with this goo in between and when you want to connect the plates/let the clutch out, you just charge this electromagnet and it makes the two plates act as one.
black goo= cool shit!

haha, I knew them techies would jump out on this.
I'm just pointing out that an Si engine on a DPFI can chirp third at 5 grand. Brand new clutch of course. And hell if I'm makin him a MPFI so he can smoke me. Hehehe.
anyone can chirp, if you rev it enough, and traction is not present. But he chirps in regular shifting, (5G) clutchdump. Weird being DPFI.

Oh, and I seem to remeber phatty saying some shift grinds are fixed by replacing the front engine mount.
Silver, my shift grinds disappeared when I installed my window welded mounts. The car seems to have more vibrations, but it gets a good solid launch. My front engine mount was gone as in two pieces, tilt it sideways and the middle falls out. Now I got good solid ones. Wohoo

the black goo would be a great thing except for the fact you need something to dampen the force. the clutch burns before engaging thus emliminating the jerky motion. a race clutch is more of what the goo would be, either fully engage or not, nothing in the middle. which would be great for race applications if you can deal with the inital torque of the engine. so something is going to give and with sticky tires its your axles and with good axles its then your transmission
me and kenobi had this discussion about someone who wanted to make paddle shifters for hondas. it sounds great on paper and in race apps but wont get you far daily driven

oh and i told you that window weld would make a difference. sure the car vibrates more but your able to transfer more torque to the wheels and get the hp numbers up which means faster times.
