Me and Jatt were talking to our mechanic about going turbo on the SI.  He suggested we should go to the junkyard and pickup old turbo parts from the Ford 2.3 turbo series, eg: Ford Probe, Ford Thunderbird, Ford Escort, etc.  He stated that these are ball bearing turbo's and they would be perfect for the stock SI engine.  Ofcourse we would still have to strengthen the internals which is cheaper than buying a new engine and turbocharge that.

I've seen those other turbo kits range from 1500 and up (T3 kits) and that is just way too much money.

So, what do u guys think about the ford turbo's?  :?:

I thinks that is the turbo that my mechanic was talking about.  They act like superchargers in that they spool up real quick.

Jim I'll try to hit u up this week.

I have an HF manifold, FMIC and 14B turbo from a DSM. Both are in great condition. No shaft play no cracks on the turbo. Includes all the hardlines, HF mani has no cracks. You'll need to get an adapter plate, wastegate actuator that boosts 4 to 6 psi, FMU and a BOV. Once you have those your set.

for you, $250.
