I just went through this and learned a lot about the process, this doesn't guarantee anything, it just increases your chances greatley. This is all assuming your exaust is still in good shape, and you think you can pass, ie. no visible smoke, and seems to run well.

what you need to do

1. Throw in a tank of high octane gas, I ran 91 (it does make a differnce)

2. Reset your ecu (see bottom for instructions)

3. Make your appointment

4. B4 your go, take her for a good rip, maybe 1/2 hr, and rev it out. Make sure you drive it hard before you go in.

5. Make sure that when you take it in, they do it right away so it's still hot.

6.Pass

Resetting Ecu

1. Start car and get it to operating temp, ie. just below half on the guage.

2. Turn off car

3. Disconnect negative battery terminal and leave it off for 10-15 min

4. Reconnect negative terminal

5. start vehicle and allow to idle with no accesories on, do not hit the gas, just let it idle for 5 minutes

6. Your done

I took my ride in to get emmissions tested just yesterday. The first time, I passed everything except CO levels at 2500rpm. So, they told me to do the preceeding, and I took it in, passed with flying colors, much better.

Also, the most common things to replace when you fail badley are 02 sensors. Our hondas are usually an easy pass, so good luck!!!
And then take off your pants and slap ben in the face with your dick

Why do you need to rap it out, what does it matter?

It does make a difference, especially if your cat has been on there for a long time. It gets nice and hot, and as CRX says, gets rid of carbon. I don't understand why that all worked, but it did. My levels dropped tons. My CO levels at 2500rpm went from 1.5 to .05 of an allowed 1.0. Thats a HUGE difference, and I took it to a real honda shop to have it done. My mechanic was the one who said to do all of this, I trusted him, and it worked. It wasn't just the CO levels that dropped, everything dropped after I did all of that.

i seriously doubt that will help. I noticed in my exhaust piping there is carbon buildup all the way to the fuckin tail pipe tip. My cat is dead... it is blacker than dark and black paper. oh yeah... high revin will cause my car to die quicker. I seriously don't want that sense i am on a budget right now. when i did test it before, i reved the bitch to revline and kept it there for a while.

You may doubt it, but don't give others the wrong impression, because it works unless your motor is seriosly fucked. Here were my two test results.

1. HC ppm, Limit-97, Reading 93 - Pass
   CO  % , Limit 0.54, reading 1.04 - fail
   Dilution 15.8
That was all at 2025 RPM, I think as soon as you fail they stop

test 2
at idle
HCppm, Limit 200, reading 84 Pass
CO  %, Limit 1.0, reading .05 pass
Dilution 15.1

At 2025rpm
HC ppm, Limit 200, Reading 116 pass
CO  % , Limit 1.00, Reading .05 pass
Dilution 14.9

I'm not exactly sure how this shit works and what it means, all I know is my mechanic told me that it was MUCH better the second time around. And as far as revving your motor, well, than just hit 4.5k-5k, and run at a high rev before, for 1/2 hr - 45 min, it's not going to kill your motor, just don't be an idiot about it and drive around punching the rev limiter.

It does work.  I've told this same plan several times for people who can't pass.  Out of the 20 or so poeple who tried it, only one failed.  Well, I did too but I needed my timing adjusted and so did the other guy.  So after that, everyone I know passed.
