To take a little slop out of the throttle, you can easily tighten the throttle cable.  To do that, you must simply move the little nuts that brace the throttle cable to the intake manifold (possibly slightly different on things besides a paseo).  They should be moved so that there is less slack in the throttle cable between the nuts and the throttle body.  The only thing you have to be careful about is your idle.  If you pull the cable too tight, your idle will be raised slightly.  You'll figure out why, if you don't know now.
