Anyone think it would be possible to make a moonroof to fit in the factory sunroof spot? Not the non-electric shit you can find online but something transparent that can actually move on the same rails?  Could I just use lexan or plexiglass and try and bend it around the sealing of the old sunroof?

I looked it up but the cost of getting it done custom was like 3X what a replacement roof would cost. I even checked out what importing a moonroof from a Europe would cost and the shipping was expensive.
I spent almost $500 on getting a new sunroof and getting that all set up.
Just replace it with a new one man, although if ya did do it, it would be sweet!  Smiley

You gotta think creatively. If you know someone that can work with glass or plexiglass or lexan, you should be pretty set. Just make a peice to sun roof specification (and get it bent a little to because of the roof curve) and pop on the sunroof brackets. You'll never know unless oyu try it.... :nolisten:

Well.. I heard once that you could make a transparent hood out of plexiglass and the hood pins would form it into place if you do it correctly, so that's how I got the idea for the moonroof.  However I don't know how I'd get the lexan to flex right.. I was thinking metal beams really thin around the side where the seal would go.   I just think it'd be cool.  They sell ones that fit into place of the sunroof but they're not electric, they just pop up.

i do belive you can buy lexan at home depot or am i thinkin of the other plastic non-breakable shit.... well have it cut at a glass place to the specs of your old one and use soem ghetto 3m double sided tape to stick it on there and reinforce it some how...  my friend did his crx last year and it came out alright, lots of measuiring and custom shit.
