Has anyone ever painted that little center console that comes down around the shifter?  Does that look cool if you match it to the exterior color and if so how do you get it out?

There are 4 screws(maybe 6) that you have to take off to get it off.  Once you do that, take the shift knob off, and its that easy.  Then paint it.  I did mine it looks okay, but prep it first, I didnt, and there are a few places it came off at.

Dude, dont paint it.  I wouldn't and I have started to think that a stock interior is alot nicer than an all painted one.  Eventually you will want a stock color one.

Ya'll sold me.  What if I paint it black though? Since it's like dulled dark gray right now.  Think that would enrich my interior a little?

Keep it matching the rest of the interior Wink If the rest is black, and that's discolored, try to match it...but if the rest is the same color, I wouldn't touch it or it would look out of place.

Just my $0.02 ...hey, at least it's US$!

There are 6 screws.  Four on the side of the console and one on each side underneath.  The one on the right side you have to open the glove box to get to.  The one on the left is well, it's obvious where it is.

And don't paint it.

dont paint it.....if you want to trade for my painted interior i'll gladly swap with you Smiley

i painted mine because i was painted silver when i bought the car...i put thick ass coats to cover everything up, and like a week later i thought to myself "damn, i bet i could have gotten that old paint off with some paint thinner" but now it's too thick and scratched up to make stock looking.

painted interiors are shitty

I dont think painted interiors are bad, if everything is all matched the same.  I am gonna do mine over a little bit.  I like it done.  Anyway, I am gonna do some other stuff, or i am gonna take everything out and get all the paint off it.  One or the other.  My dad told to take the stuff out and take to to the shop, he will use his air gun, and it will blow the paint off, lol.

After you get your car, this is like the first thing everyone wants to do, paint the interior.  lol  Its like a rice phase everyone goes through.  Or most everyone.  Like the one windsheild wiper, lol, which I still posess.  I am gonna change it as soon as I find my other wiper I had in the garage, but my mom cleaned the garage and lost it.  Now she wonders why everything is in my room, lol.
