Okay, this is how it is... "The Wow Qutient" is the final product of a bunch of body mods that make people say "Wow..." (The 'Wow' Factors). That's what me and my friends made up... but let me get to the real question at hand... A few years ago, I borrowed my bro's Black MR2 Turbo to go to, I think, homecoming. And it was pretty much stock on the outside. Now, when I was pulling up, I turned down the radio, and I heard this girl say "Wow..." (First of all, how badass is that to make someone say "wow" just by looking at your car?? ) Okay, obviously the car is unique and looks pretty #### good. But say I owned a Honda coupe (be it, Accord, Civic, Integra, RSX, etc)... what mods and "style" would create "The Wow Quotient???" I just like it when people just look and can't dog the ride, they just say "wow..." I included a poll, but your more than welcome to add more suggestions... Bare with me with the Crazy style, I think, if you have a real agressive look, Aluminum wings and fat exhhausts are fitting. NO ALTEZZAS AND CLEAR TAILS!!! Clean (Rims/low-pro tires, small kit/lips, little wing, clear front lighting, nice quiet exhaust, lowered, and tint) Agressive/crazy (Agressive kit, aluminum wing, fat exhaust, big chrome wheels) 5 Crazy/ .5 Clean (Agressive kit, small wing, non-chrome wheels, nice quiet exhaust) Other...

you know how to get a wow factor... You got the stupid rice boys that will do anything to try to get some attention, sticker up their car, paint misc pieces neon colors, etc. Anyone who does that will never even approach anything but "wow, that is the ugliest piece of shit I've ever seen." People glare at them and they think they are getting attention. There are the girls who go, "wow, that is a nice car." Of course 9/10 of these girls will be referring to a slammed 18" chromies with a body kit, oversized wing, and most often a thumping coming from the trunk. There are the guys who go, "wow, that is a nice car." Guys can go several ways usually... The rice boys, the car guys, and the performance junkies. Rice boys are like the girls (maybe increased levels of estrogen?), the car guys like good looking cars that are quick, and the perfomance junkies hate any exterior modification that is unneccesary.
Who do you want to impress? Maybe all of them? Go Subtle and clean and make it quick. "Wow, that is a nice, clean car..."

I went with the clean car, there is so much aggresive and cromed out stuff around anymore that I wow anything that is done up very clean and with performance still in mind. little to no sticker (must include a crxpower.net sticker), molded calm body kit nothing that looks like it wants to eat you, anything around 16-18" wheels non crome or gold, a mild wing, all the performance mods you can afford . past that in looks wise maybe a aftermarket hood probably not carbin fiber because thats played out but one with maybe a few little vents in it to add to the look. Clean interior with leather seats will always add to the wow factor. And on a performance not a turbo with a nice litte swish of the blow off vavle usually makes people go oooooohhh. Probably the number way to add to the wow factor from a girl is a good looking guy behind the wheel and not some scroney dork (not implying you are one)

YOU REVEALED MY SECRET!!!! :p Thanx for the 2 replies, guys. You make some good points. Hmm... some points I have to make though... *No chrome or gold wheels... fine. But what about gunmetal, hyper black, black, etc...?? *Spec, You voted for clean, but... I feel a vented hood is leaning toward aggressive. maybe the cleanest one would be a hood like the new mustangs... *Carbon fiber on anything but a black car would be crazy, huh?? or if on a different color clean car, it would be the 1/2 and 1/2 style, huh? *I'm just simply talking about exterior and overall looks. 1) I don't think too many people know what a blow off valve sounds like 2) An intercooler would probably just "WOW" car/performance guys... *I would think a WW kit would be best, huh? Because they pretty much make the cleanest kits next to Honda's lip kits... *Venom Type R, yeah, I would just like a car to "WOW" everyone... so a clean look would work... *It's not so much I build cars for other people to look at, I build a car for me. But just for people to say "WOW"... it's just cool... Yeah, I think the clean way is the best way to go. But if you want a clean car, you have to do a little more than a few mods. Probably the biggets wheels you can get without rolling the lip, clean kit (molded or no molded???) mild wing, good tint, good looking and nice sounding exhaust, hood ( ), clear front lights, and a CRXPower.net sticker (On a car that's not a CRX :0 )

I don't see, say the aerogear hood as very agressive, on a wings west kit i think that hood would fit it well. You are right many people don't know what a blow off vavle is or sounds like, but even at that they still think the pssshhhh sounds so cool. Black, gunmetal, hyperblack are all cool depending on the color of the car. I think on the wow factor that carbin fiber doesn't wow many people inless they realize its carbin fiber. If i see a car from more than like 2 cars away or so with a carbin hood it looks like a mis match paint job. For a body kit I am a fan of the WW atleast for the crx, yes it is played out in most cities but not here and it looks real clean. And yes molded would look best. and i know a couple people around my town w/o a crx that would put a crxpower.net sticker on there car

I say keep it clean and simple man. The only "Wow" factor I'm goin for is one where people say "damn that kids got a quick CRX" Other than that I'm keepni it all stock on the outside basically. All I've added are side markers, clear corners and clear bumper lights. As for rims I'd like some SiR Civic rims next yr and if my friend gets me into Toyota next summer, I"m gonna add a fiberglass hood and a CRX SiR JDM spoiler. But enough about me. Keep it clean man!

other: i like a mixture of aggressive and clean. by aggressive i mean low stance, fat intercooler in the bumper and racing side view mirrors, and dual exhaust or canister exhaust and hood with vents. i wasn't meaning big hood scoop with savage body kit.

Okay, this one may sound rice for the moment, but you'll understand by the end of the post...
How much do you think a Type R decal boosts your "Wow Quotient??" I mean, do people (Car people and regular people too) look at the Type R and "Wow" it and give it respect.... or do people just look at it as a regular car???
I ask this one because the new Accord is coming out this summer. And I hear the may bring over the Type R (220 HP, 2900 lbs. :0 :0 :0 )... and well, would a Type R boost the "Wow Quotient???"
BTW: I'm not considering buying the ATR just for getting "wows"... but it's an added bonus...

I voted for the 50 50 agressive clean. Because its true that most people just see a kitted car with a wing and and assume its fast. I'm not really a ricer But I will admit I like seeing people almost run off road when they see my white hf rex. But then again its also fun to get a ricer to try to race my black si at a stop light. So I guess it really just depends what your into. People are going to hate either way. You could roll up in a bugatti (<----Probably mispelled) and people would still have bad things to say about it. Thats just how it is. All I know is that I am gonna do what I hink looks good. By the way I love my new rex.

Hybrid, dont get a 91-92 mr2, get at least a 93, as they revised the rear suspension that year so it handles better. just my two cents.

The 91-92 could pull some serious corners but the set up wasn't ideal for the everyday driver (i.e. not a race car driver) so they changed it to be a little more comfterable to drive.
