Tranny questions

where is the best place to buy a tranny like a ys1 from?  and is there any way i can just purchase the final gear from an ls tranny or do i gotta but the whole tranny just to use that final gear?   also, how long are the trannies out there good to last.  never heard of anyone talking about them going bad but want to make sure.  or would it be best to rebuild the tranny when you get it?  im prob. gonna go with a ys1 with a lsd, as everyone says honda lsds are better than anything else out tehre.  anyone know if this is true or not?
