Some guy from Canada thinks his new Firebird Ramair will leave my co-workers 82 Corolla turbo with internals and 25lbs of boost in the dust. I dunno about you guys but I'm thinking power to weight. Anyway, a lot of cash is on it, thought I doubt these guys will pay up. They're supposed to race next weekend. You all let me know what you think.
Ram air: 325hp 3000lbs car
Corolla: what, 400hp? 2000lbs, a little over?
They both claim to smoke motorcycles CBR600's to be exact

Are we talking firebird with ram air or trans-am with the WS6 package? If its just a bone stock firebird with ram air he better be prepared to wear his ass for a hat. But if he's got the trans-am WS6 those are pretty damn quick. Especially fast if you have a driver that knows what he is doing and can get through all the gears in a hurry. A guy took his out to the track here and ran a 13 not knowing what he was doing. I wouldn't be surprised if he could maybe squeeze a 12 out of it if he practiced. Also are they racing top-end or 1/4 mile? That will make a huge difference i'd think. Keep us posted, i'm anxious to find out who wins

Id have to go with the corolla. WS6 firechickens run low 13s high 12s stock. as long as your buddy has good reaction time i think you should go ahead and start singing "I feel like Chicken Tonight"

Is an 8th or quarter or street or what? Anything smaller than the 1/4 I bet he will win.

If its smaller than a 1/4 I think he will win. Because, more low end torque. The corolla will still be dealing with turbo lag, rwd gets a better launch. Thats what I have seen.
