I know formerly I said I'd never paint my interior, but I sw my friends today in his corolla and it looks AWESOME.  He's got all this plexiglass and stuff too to fill up gaps.. So he's gonna help me out.  Anyway, how do I remove the center control thing thatgoes down the shift knob?  If y'all don't know yet I decided to stop spending huge bones on my car and just do litle shit, like I'm getting a pinstripe later this week and tint soon will probably be the most expensive for a while.  It justsucks away my money hen I do major shit like wheels or a kit.  Anyway, someone just tell me real quick where the screws are.  It'll save me some time tommorw.

Huh?  Just look at it... they all stand out.  The only semi hidden one is you open the glove box and it's chillin there.  There's two on each of the sides that are in plain site.  There's one more in the upper left corner and that glove box screw in the right corner.  Take the shfit knob off and pull the e-brake as far back as you can.... that should be it.

Simple, its only 6 phillips screws, 2 on each side by where your knees would touch it sitting down, one inside the glovebox(gotta open it and it'll be right there on the left side), and one at the same height as the ac controls on the left side of the console by where you put the key in the ignition. After all those are off, take off your shiftknob, pull the E-brake up for more room, and slide it out. Take a few minutes to do. Painting is easy to do but make sure you take the dirt and grease off before you paint, soaking or wiping it down with gasoline with clean that sucker up like lightning! Thats what I did, scrubed it down with some ole' 87 octane and you can paint right after, it acts like a primer too. Make sure you put some paint sealant on when youre done so the color wont fade or chip easily.

Has anyone ever done it before? I've heard there's a lot of problems with grease and oil so you have to sand it real good and prime it?Then again I've also heard sometimes it can permeate through and sanding doesn't help much.

Well, I did it to my civic, you can check out my website for pics, there should still be some up. I sanded them lightly, than whiped em off with a damp rage, than sprayed away in short bursts, about a foot away from the thing I was painting. THan, go buy some clear coat in a can, and put like 5 layers of that shit on and it will never chip, my girl couldn't even chip mine with her nails.

It appears you and your friend enjoy spending money on uselss "modifications".  Sure a kit and rims are expensive but why waste any time and effort on a pinstripe and painted interior.  Your friend needs to wake up and realize he drives a corolla.  Who in their right mind would spend money on a corolla much less drive one in the first place oh wait, that's right, my SISTER drives one.  Just my 2 cents.  Good luck finding all those screws. :stupid:

Shut up.  You're the one driving an HF.

See, there you go.  A little taste of your own medicine.  Did he ask you if you thought what he was doing was cool?  Nope.  It's responces like this that make me not want to come here sometimes.  It's like SHO sometimes.

Just answer the damn question and quit bashing each other.

What's wrong with the HF?  It's lighter then the Si and the DX.  And it's got MPFI unlike the DX.  Perfect swap candidate.

And you assume he had a choice? I'll do what I f*cking want with my car regardless of what someone miles away from me says.

And uhh.. By the way, just to further Lemon's comment.. A simple "There's 6 screws" would have sufficed.
