HELLLPPPP!!!!! $600 For clutch and Install!!! Can I do it myself?  Got an 88 HF with the 1.5 and I wanna do it on my own. Is it that hard? Need feedback from guys who have done it before. Let me know if I should cough up the extra bucks to have it done or do it myself. I have almost no 2nd or 3rd gear anymore!! I need my CRX!!! :barf:

I don't know too much about the shops in your area but you should be able to get a clutch and install for well under $600.  I am searching for a clutch for my 89 Si and I have found a rebuilt for $104 and a new clutch for $164 I would think that you would be able to find one for about that price and easily have one installed for about $350-400 total.  I have never done a clutch install but I wouldn't think it's all that difficult.  You will pay out the ass for a shop to do it for you.  if you have some friends with a lift or a good set of jacks you can do it yourself.  I would suggest going from the bottom.

i would say to have it done by someone else. if you do it while you do a swap (which is what i did) it isnt bad because the engine is out and it is way easier. with it still in the car you might find your self taking a little longer than you planned and maybe even take up heavy drinking while swearing at your car , and you might even have an urge or two to kick the crap out of it then you would break your foot and even if it was fixed you wouldnt be able to drive cause thats your clutch foot and it would hurt when you put pressure on it..... well you get the idea :macgun:  Cheesy  :moon:
