if the zc rods are a weak point (crower does make replacement rods-for 轈-ouch), could you just use the rods from a b18a?  the b18 rods are 1mm shorter but i don't know about the fitment on the crank and piston.  i know you can put b18 rods in sohc vtec engines.  the b18 rods are good for 300 hp at the wheels, more than enough in a zc.  if anything, the slightly shorter length might take the compression down a more turbo friendly 9.0:1

the reason i ask is b18 rods are less than half the price of the crowers installed.

hmm, i dont know...i didnt even know you could put them in a SOHC VTEC engine.

its in the spring 2001 honda tuning mag.  the small end must be rebushed to accept the smaller civic pin, and the large end must be lathed to civic specs.  贄 for the rods, 贄+ for the labor and installation.  the mag says it can be used in all SOHC d16's.  is the zc close enough to those engines?

It should be.  The ZC is a D series engine so you should be good.
